Cautions: - Hypersensitive skin (can be temporary like a sunburn) - Extremely vascular skin (can dilate blood vessels more and aggravate) - Acute inflammation or swelling - Infectious skin conditions and contagious illness - Any skin conditions which could be aggravated by massage - Diabetes/long term steroids (if skin is thin) - Severe Acne - Recent surgery on neck or face - Procedures like Botox in the last 3 weeks - Pregnancy (meridians can be eliminated during this treatment) - Epilepsy - gentle pressure on neck and around occiput: also omit - Recent dental work (avoiding painful pressure) - Hearing aids (remove, adapt massage techniques) - Frail, elderly, chronically ill clients: will adapt the acupressure part of the massage
